Senior Project Engineer

About the role

The Senior Project Engineer will lead a Houston‑based engineering team supporting offshore projects executed with Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group installation vessels. The role is hybrid, with up to 20% travel (including offshore) and focuses on Gulf of America installations, light construction, diving, remediation and IMR scopes.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure engineering work complies with Oceaneering policies, safety standards, and client requirements.
• Direct structural and mechanical design and analysis for rigid pipelines, flexible product installations, and steel structures.
• Create, review, and approve installation procedures, specifications, design changes, schematics, and test plans.
• Approve engineering calculations, product designs, and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and System Integration Tests (SIT).
• Apply industry codes such as ASME, AISC, DNV, API, ABS, and AWS where applicable.
• Maintain action‑item, interface, and master document registers and coordinate with document control and design teams.
• Lead HazID, readiness, peer, and design reviews to identify and mitigate project risks.
• Provide on‑site oversight of offshore operations, OPG projects, and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain the project engineering deliverables schedule and lead technical planning with the Project Manager and client.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Structural, Mechanical, Civil or Ocean Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience, including classical analytical methods, 2D CAD, structural analysis software, and installation of topside and subsea equipment.
• Experience with rigid and flexible product installations.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including offshore assignments.
• Eligibility to obtain a TWIC card, PEC Basic Training, and BOSIET certification.
