Senior Process Engineer – Frozen Food

About the role

Nestlé’s Research & Development Center is seeking a senior specialist to design, prototype and pilot new manufacturing solutions for the Frozen Food Division, covering both pizza and meals. The role combines technical expertise with leadership to bring innovative frozen‑food processes from concept to full‑scale production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of Nestlé R&D engineering standards and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Develop, validate, and optimize mixing, cooking, assembly, mechanical and freezing processes for frozen pizza and meals.
• Codify proven solutions into company standards for deployment across factories.
• Scale processes from pilot runs to full‑factory implementation, ensuring throughput, quality and repeatability.
• Lead troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and variability elimination.
• Design automated manufacturing solutions to improve labor efficiency and product consistency.
• Partner with automation and controls specialists to integrate PLC/SCADA and DMO platforms.
• Support development of process simulations and digital twins for operational optimization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of process‑engineering experience in frozen foods or related process industries.
• Proven ability to scale processes from pilot to commercial manufacturing.
• Experience with cooking, blending, freezing, and filling unit operations.
• Willingness to travel up to 30 % of the time.

Required skills

• Process engineering of cooking, blending, freezing and filling operations.
• Simulation tools such as FlexSim (or equivalent).
• AutoDesk 3‑D design software.
• PLC/SCADA integration and DMO platform knowledge.
• Data analytics and advanced modeling for continuous improvement.
