Senior Plan Documents Specialist

About the role

Centivo is seeking a Senior Plan Documents Specialist to lead the preparation, maintenance, and compliance of employee benefit plan documents for self‑funded employers. The role works cross‑functionally with Configuration, Implementation, Client Success and Product teams to ensure high‑quality output and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Verify eligibility status and plan requirements to ensure accurate inclusion in plan documents.
• Draft, finalize, and maintain non‑standard or moderately complex benefit plan documents (SBCs, SPDs, SMMs) based on change requests.
• Assist with client and internal inquiries related to SBC and SPD language, compliance, or customization.
• Communicate with PDM vendors on federal/state mandates and customized requests.
• Support client onboarding calls and manage a book of business for Mid‑Market, Enterprise, or Strategic accounts.
• Mentor junior team members and provide training on document drafting.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of employee benefits paralegal or similar professional experience.
• Experience with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA and other relevant federal regulations.
• Strong organizational, multi‑tasking and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet productivity goals.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Phia Group’s PDM online portal or comparable document management platforms.
• Experience using DOL Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) templates and SBC Coverage Examples Calculator.
• Typing speed of 60–70 words per minute.
