Senior Licensed Surveyor - New Mexico State Lead

About the role

As a Senior Licensed Surveyor leading New Mexico state projects, you will join Horrocks' growing survey team to support large, multi‑discipline transportation and land‑development initiatives. You will apply your expertise in boundary retracement, design support, and construction staking while mentoring staff and expanding your professional skill set.

Key responsibilities

• Apply field techniques for boundary retracement, design support, and construction surveying.
• Manage multiple projects and supervise staff to meet deadlines.
• Retrace and create property boundaries for roads, pipelines, facilities, and other right‑of‑way easements.
• Collect and analyze data from maps, prior surveys, photographs, and recorded documents.
• Compile survey computations and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Stake construction projects using design plans and provide accurate field markings.
• Contribute to team goals and assist with related tasks as needed.

Required profile

• State Professional Land Surveyor license (or ability to obtain within one year).
• Extensive experience in land development and transportation projects; municipal project experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of property research, boundary law, legal descriptions, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Proven ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and maintain high QA/QC standards.
• Professional demeanor with a sense of urgency and strong prioritization skills.
