Senior Full Stack Engineer (Remote US/Canada/SF)

About the role

Short Story is looking for an early senior full‑stack engineer to build internal and customer‑facing services that process orders and shape the technical foundation of the platform. You will work in a fast‑growing, data‑driven startup that serves petite women across the US and Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services for order processing and customer interactions.
• Establish reusable design patterns and guidelines for all backend workloads.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to create new user experiences and improve warehouse and logistics operations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years with Python.
• Self‑motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and able to solve complex problems end‑to‑end.
• Strong focus on clear communication and thorough documentation.

Required skills

• Python and a Python web framework.
• Testing framework (PyTest preferred).
• Cloud provider experience, preferably AWS.
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Relational database expertise, especially PostgreSQL and SQL.
• CI/CD pipeline familiarity.
