Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join Coder’s Customer Solutions team. Embedded with our most complex enterprise customers, you will guide deployment, architecture, onboarding and the adoption of agentic development workflows, acting as the technical authority from contract to productive use.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for post‑sales customers, shaping deployment architecture and environment design.
• Own end‑to‑end onboarding engagements, ensuring rapid and confident adoption of Coder.
• Lead “Get Well” engagements to resolve architectural or organizational blockers.
• Design and document repeatable delivery patterns that scale across customer segments.
• Create reference architectures tailored to each customer’s cloud, security and compliance constraints.
• Capture product feedback from deployments and advocate for roadmap improvements.

Required profile

• 5+ years in a forward‑deployed engineering, solutions architect or platform engineering role with enterprise customers.
• 2+ years deploying or operating AI coding agents in production environments.
• 2+ years of production experience with Kubernetes.
• 2+ years of experience with Terraform or equivalent IaC tooling.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and high customer empathy.

• Linux systems administration, including ingress controllers, proxies, load balancers and DNS
