Senior Driller

About the role

The Senior Driller will support geotechnical and environmental drilling investigations for MSG in Columbus, OH. This field‑based position involves operating drilling equipment, collecting subsurface data, and leading crews on project sites across Ohio and occasional out‑of‑state assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the field safety representative, ensuring compliance with health and safety plans, company policies, and regulations.
• Operate GeoProbe 7822DT rigs and other drilling equipment to perform auger, direct‑push, rotary, mud‑rotary, and core drilling investigations.
• Install downhole instrumentation such as piezometers, inclinometers, and other monitoring devices.
• Conduct daily inspections and preventative maintenance on rigs, vehicles, tools, and support equipment.
• Review project requirements with engineering and technical staff to confirm scope, equipment, and staffing needs.
• Transport drilling rigs, equipment, and materials safely to and from project sites.
• Maintain accurate field records and documentation for all drilling activities.
• Represent MSG professionally with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and the public.
• Travel to project locations and work extended hours or overnight assignments as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4‑7 years of drilling experience in geotechnical, environmental, or related operations.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• 40‑Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification.
• Basic computer and iPad proficiency for field documentation.
