Senior Data Scientist II

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist II to lead the design and validation of AI‑driven product capabilities within the legal domain. You will work on a global AI platform team that builds cutting‑edge AI products and ships features to production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement NLP, LLM, and generative AI approaches such as RAG and prompt strategies.
• Define agentic workflows and reasoning strategies for multi‑step legal tasks.
• Develop retrieval strategies, including hybrid semantic + lexical search, and define evaluation metrics like relevance and ranking quality.
• Analyze large‑scale legal datasets to extract insights and improve model performance.
• Establish best practices for model evaluation, validation, and benchmarking.
• Translate experimental results into clear product recommendations and business impact.
• Collaborate with product, legal experts, and engineers to align solutions with user needs.
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership in data science and AI.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science).
• Strong experience in machine learning, NLP, and LLM‑based modeling.
• Proven ability to design and run experiments, including model evaluation and iteration.
• Experience with generative AI techniques such as prompt engineering and retrieval‑augmented generation.
• Experience designing and evaluating hybrid search using embeddings and vector databases.
• Hands‑on experience building agentic workflows with frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or AutoGen.
• Proficiency in Python and data‑analysis tools.
• Solid foundation in statistics, modeling, and large‑scale text processing.
