Senior Counsel – Contracts & Litigation

About the role

CRH Americas, Inc. is looking for an experienced attorney to join its collaborative legal department. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, you will work closely with Environmental Health & Safety managers and the company’s operating units to manage litigation and commercial contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operating companies to assert or respond to claims and lawsuits.
• Review, negotiate, and draft commercial contracts.
• Identify and prevent potential claims across the organization.
• Manage claims consultants and outside counsel, including budgets and invoices.
• Evaluate litigation practices and develop strategies to reduce exposure.
• Analyze regulations and legal precedent to provide recommendations.
• Serve as legal counsel in negotiations with government regulators and in enforcement matters.
• Supervise litigation, including insurance and contract claims.
• Provide legal training and support for acquisitions, divestitures, and compliance.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• License to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• Minimum three years of experience in construction law or general litigation.
• Knowledge of best‑in‑class litigation management practices and construction industry regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Westlaw.
• Experience using iManage.
• Familiarity with Onit or similar matter‑management platforms.
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word.
