Senior Counsel, Bank Regulatory Legal (Director level)

About the role

Deutsche Bank is seeking a Senior Counsel to act as a strategic advisor on bank regulatory matters for its Americas platform and global activities. The role requires a pragmatic, experienced lawyer who can provide clear, commercially‑focused guidance within a large, complex banking organization.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business and infrastructure functions on the permissibility of transactions, investments, new initiatives, divestitures, reorganizations, and products under applicable laws such as the New York Banking Law, National Bank Act, Federal Reserve Act, and Bank Holding Company Act.
• Prepare, review, and advise on regulatory applications, notices, and other submissions related to the Bank’s strategic initiatives.
• Monitor and communicate regulatory developments affecting the Americas platform to internal stakeholders.
• Report to the Head of Bank Regulatory Legal and collaborate closely with business‑line legal teams.
• Support regulatory engagements, examinations, and supervisory matters in coordination with the Regulatory Management Group.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with substantial experience in U.S. bank regulatory law.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver commercially practical advice in a complex, global banking environment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a track record of influencing senior management.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of New York Banking Law, National Bank Act, Federal Reserve Act, and Bank Holding Company Act.
• Experience preparing and reviewing regulatory filings and managing regulator relationships.
