Senior Android Software Engineer

About the role

Eight Sleep is looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to lead the development of its flagship mobile app, the primary interface for members to control and monitor their sleep‑fitness hardware. You will work closely with backend, firmware, and machine‑learning teams, as well as product, growth, and executive stakeholders, to deliver a pixel‑perfect, high‑performance experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship new features for the Android app using Kotlin and modern architectural patterns.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define product requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce code quality standards, and mentor junior engineers.
• Optimize app performance, memory usage, and battery consumption to ensure a smooth user experience.
• Maintain and evolve the UI/UX with Jetpack Compose, creating smooth animations and responsive layouts.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience shipping high‑quality native Android applications.
• Proven track record in fast‑growth startup environments.
• Passion for health‑tech, wellness, and data‑driven products.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work under pressure.
