Senior Analyst – Strategic Investments

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Analyst to drive strategic minority investments within its Start Path program and support broader strategic investment initiatives. The role involves end‑to‑end investment execution, portfolio management, and collaboration with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full Start Path investment process, including business case development, cross‑functional diligence, and term negotiations.
• Assess strategic fit of prospective investments against Mastercard’s priorities such as asset enhancement, ecosystem reach, and engagement expansion.
• Prepare executive‑level materials for Investment Committee and senior leadership, including memos, rationales, and risk frameworks.
• Manage the Start Path portfolio as primary contact for founders, internal stakeholders, and executive sponsors, tracking performance and milestones.
• Support ongoing valuation, monitoring, and reporting of the broader strategic investment portfolio to senior executives and the Board.

Required profile

• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to bring fresh perspectives.
• Strong analytical abilities with experience in financial modeling, accounting, and valuation.
• Understanding of financial concepts such as DCF, NPV, and IRR.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and manage time effectively.
• Experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development, or strategic finance (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree.
