Senior Agronomic Sales Advisor – South Dakota (Field)

About the role

BASF Agricultural Solutions is seeking a Senior Agronomic Sales Advisor to lead its field activities in South Dakota. The role focuses on promoting BASF seed, crop protection, and seed‑treatment products while acting as a trusted agronomic advisor to growers.

Key responsibilities

• Create demand for BASF seed, crop protection, and seed‑treatment solutions by advising growers on agronomic practices and product selection.
• Develop and execute strategic business and agronomic plans with key growers, serving as the primary BASF contact.
• Build and maintain territory plans, collaborate with retail partners, and drive seed‑growth opportunities through joint customer visits and product positioning.
• Manage sales forecasts, product positioning, and revenue targets, ensuring accurate demand forecasting.
• Partner with internal sales, technical service, and account management teams to support customer success.
• Lead market strategies, product launches, and territory growth initiatives to identify opportunities and strengthen relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in agronomic sales, preferably within seed or crop‑protection markets.
• Strong understanding of South Dakota’s cropping systems and farmer needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of seed varieties, crop protection products, and seed‑treatment technologies.
• Ability to develop and execute agronomic business plans.
• Experience with sales forecasting and territory management.
