Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead accurate financial reporting and strengthen day‑to‑day accounting operations. The role is pivotal for monthly close, audit readiness, compliance, and maintaining robust accounting procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly and periodic close activities, preparing journal entries, supporting schedules, and clear variance explanations.
• Review and reconcile general ledger and balance‑sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Develop, update, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and standard operating documentation.
• Assemble financial reporting packages for leadership review and adjust analyses based on feedback.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, improving coordination, accuracy, and control.
• Prepare tax, survey, and regulatory filings with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
• Partner with external auditors, providing documentation and schedules for annual audits.
• Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Provide guidance and training to junior accounting team members and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of accounting or finance experience; public accounting background preferred.
• CPA or similar credential strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting practices.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
