Seed Operator – Rotating 12‑Hour Shifts

About the role

Seed operators are responsible for cleaning and moving grain, operating malting and farm equipment, and handling the steeping, germinating, kilning, packaging and testing of finished malt ingredients.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all plant safety policies, risk assessments, lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and wear required PPE.
• Operate and monitor process equipment using SAP and Wonderware, and perform routine sanitation with compressed air, high‑pressure water and chemicals.
• Assist the movement of product through the malting process while adhering to malt quality standards.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on process equipment and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and commitment to safety, quality and productivity.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in dusty, wet environments with proper PPE.
• Experience in production or food‑processing environments is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word) and email.
• Experience using SAP and Wonderware plant control systems.
