About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to support the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This full‑time, day‑shift position ensures efficient patient flow, accurate appointment management, and seamless communication among clinical staff, physicians, and patients.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule patient procedures, tests, and follow‑up appointments for the Cath Lab.
- Maintain up‑to‑date scheduling software and verify patient information, insurance authorizations, and pre‑procedure requirements.
- Communicate schedule changes promptly to physicians, nurses, and ancillary services.
- Monitor daily procedure volumes, resolve conflicts, and optimize resource utilization.
- Provide front‑line support for patient inquiries and ensure a positive experience.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health administration is preferred.
- Prior experience in a clinical scheduling or administrative role, preferably in a cardiac or interventional setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with scheduling software or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and related documentation.
