RN House Supervisor – Night Shift (Kings Hwy)

About the role

The RN House Supervisor on the Kings Highway night shift provides both administrative and clinical support to ensure high‑quality patient care. Working closely with nursing staff, the supervisor monitors resource use and facilitates effective communication across the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a resource to nursing staff in delivering patient care.
• Round frequently throughout the shift to identify issues requiring administrative action and communicate them to the appropriate level.
• Supervise and lead staff effectively, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
• Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety criteria appropriate to patient ages.
• Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy, tailor explanations of services, and obtain necessary permissions.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a BSN (required for Ochsner Magnet facilities).
• Minimum three years of RN experience; critical care or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and BLS certification; ACLS and CCRN preferred.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
