Retail Sales Lead (Full-Time)

About the role

The American Girl Retail team runs experiential stores that offer services such as Girl and Doll Salons, full-service restaurants, personal shopping, ear piercing and parties. The Retail Lead is based at the AG Retail Chicago location and reports directly to the Assistant Department Manager. The role supports the retail sales manager with daily operations, gives leadership and direction to the department and provides a high level of selling and customer service to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Support the retail sales manager in business functions such as merchandise management, business analysis and staff development.
• Carry out supervisory duties: enforce floor presentation visual standards, coach and motivate staff, monitor business and stock levels, and prepare staff schedules for adequate floor coverage.
• Motivate team members to meet or exceed sales goals, track sales performance and analyze results for management.
• Delegate responsibilities to improve workflow and staff skills.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and act as Manager on Duty, overseeing the sales floor and resolving customer concerns.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work with a broad and diverse workforce.
• A strong customer service background, with lead/supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Enjoys children and has a warm, friendly demeanor.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.

The pay range is $19 to $22.80 per hour, depending on location, skills and experience. Mattel states that candidates who do not meet every requirement are encouraged to apply.
