About the role

The Department of Saône-et-Loire is looking for a senior manager to lead its Exploitation, Maintenance and Viability unit. Based in Mâcon, you will oversee a team of five agents responsible for the day‑to‑day operation, safety and sustainability of a 5,267 km departmental road network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and motivate the unit’s five‑person team, ensuring effective coordination of daily operations.
• Supervise road exploitation activities such as CIGT management, temporary orders, event coordination, accident monitoring and traffic counting.
• Lead crisis management procedures for road incidents and emergencies.
• Define and update policies on road exploitation and long‑term viability, integrating climate‑adaptation and biodiversity considerations.
• Provide technical advice to the Direction of Roads and Infrastructure and to territorial planning services.

Required profile

• Experience in public‑sector road or infrastructure management.
• Proven ability to lead a small technical team.
• Strong understanding of road safety, traffic monitoring and crisis response.
• Knowledge of environmental and climate‑impact issues related to road networks.

• CIGT (road operation management system)
