Registered Nurse – Neuro Progressive Unit (Weekends/Nights)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Neuro Progressive Unit on weekends and night shifts. The RN will provide direct patient care, lead the nursing process, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care.
• Assess patient learning needs and implement appropriate teaching strategies.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Apply data and evidence‑based knowledge to promote change and improve outcomes.

Required profile

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• RN diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• No prior work experience required.
