Quality Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

3M is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its manufacturing team in Angleton, Texas. The role focuses on driving product quality, supporting continuous improvement, and applying statistical methods to ensure reliable production.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a diverse manufacturing team to promote quality as a competitive advantage.
• Identify and prioritize product quality improvement opportunities and product‑process understanding (PPU) projects.
• Track and report critical Key Performance Indicators such as Lean Six Sigma savings and Cost of Quality.
• Perform statistical analysis, control‑chart monitoring, capability studies, and experimental designs.
• Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) initiatives.
• Assist with change, complaint, and supplier management, and conduct ISO‑9001/QMS audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
• At least two years of combined plant experience in manufacturing engineering, technology, quality engineering, or product engineering.
• Experience in both private and public, government or military environments is acceptable.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) are a plus.

Required skills

• Quality tools: DQM, House of Quality, PPU, APQP, FMEA, control plans, PPAP.
• Statistical methods: control‑chart analysis, capability analysis, experimental design.
• Software: SAP, PLM documentation systems.
• Auditing and standards: ISO 9001, QMS, change and complaint management.
• Lean Six Sigma methodology.
