Professional Engineer Special Inspector – Part‑Time

Bureau Veritas is seeking licensed Professional Engineers (P.E.) to work as Special Inspectors on a part‑time, as‑needed basis across New York City’s five boroughs. Inspectors will perform field inspections on a variety of projects, from high‑rise buildings to transportation hubs, ensuring compliance with Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code, related inspection requirements, and safety standards. The role involves conducting pile‑installation and geotechnical condition inspections, preparing detailed inspection reports, and coordinating with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies. Candidates must hold an active P.E. license in New York or New Jersey, have at least three years of NYC inspection experience, and possess strong knowledge of the NYC and International Building Codes. Required certifications include OSHA 10‑hour Construction Safety, fall‑protection, scaffolding, ladder, and work‑zone safety training.
