Production Technician – Soil Carbon Lab

About the role
Join EarthOptics as a Production Technician in our Emeryville lab, supporting soil‑carbon analysis and helping deliver data‑driven solutions for sustainable agriculture.
Key responsibilities
- Support routine soil processing tasks, including sample preparation, testing workflows, and data entry.
- Receive, sort, label, package, store, and track soil samples following lab SOPs.
- Operate basic lab equipment such as ovens, soil grinders, vacuum sealers, scales, and assist with FTIR and Elemental Analyzer workflows.
- Maintain clean, safe, organized production spaces and complete documentation for sample tracking.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent with reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow SOPs, work safely with PPE, and handle soil and lab materials.
- Detail‑oriented, able to perform repetitive tasks accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Required skills
- Operation of laboratory equipment (ovens, grinders, vacuum sealers, scales).
- Basic experience with FTIR and Elemental Analyzer instruments.
- Familiarity with LIMS or sample tracking systems (preferred).
- Basic computer proficiency and troubleshooting of equipment.
