Production Technician – Sample Preparation (Part‑Time)

About the role

EarthOptics is seeking a Production Technician to operate automated sample‑preparation systems in its Emeryville lab. You will help deliver high‑throughput soil analysis that supports sustainable agriculture.

Key responsibilities

• Load 200‑300 soil samples per day into automated blenders.
• Receive, sort, and stage samples according to ordered analyses.
• Maintain clean, organized production spaces and follow safety protocols.
• Operate the waste‑slurry pipeline, including sump pumps and flocculation system.
• Ensure high‑throughput production while adhering to SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven ability to multitask efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Consistent adherence to SOPs, safety procedures, and use of PPE.
• Basic computer/IT troubleshooting skills and competence with hand tools.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety guidelines.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including occasional after‑hours.
• Comfort handling large volumes of soil and soil slurry.
