About the role
Abt Global is seeking a Principal Investigator to lead end‑to‑end scientific evidence evaluation services for a NIEHS literature review project. The role will guide systematic evidence mapping, literature reviews, and health hazard assessments, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality technical reports.
Key responsibilities
- Provide scientific leadership and strategic oversight for systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and evidence synthesis supporting health hazard assessments.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams of scientists, analysts, and technical experts through planning, execution, and quality assurance of literature review projects.
- Ensure methodological consistency, scientific rigor, and regulatory compliance throughout study screening, data extraction, and evidence integration.
- Lead development, review, and approval of technical, toxicity, DART, immunotoxicity, and research reports.
- Oversee the use of AI‑enabled, machine‑learning, and natural‑language‑processing tools to improve review efficiency and transparency.
- Act as primary scientific liaison with clients, federal partners, advisory groups, and external reviewers.
- Identify, recruit, and manage subject‑matter experts across toxicology, epidemiology, pathology, and exposure assessment.
- Manage program resources, risk, schedule, quality control, and contract deliverables.
Required profile
- Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in toxicology, epidemiology, public health, or a related scientific discipline.
- Extensive experience leading systematic reviews, evidence synthesis, and health hazard assessments.
- Proven track record managing multidisciplinary scientific teams and delivering peer‑reviewed technical reports.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and consensus building.
