Principal Architect, AI Enablement

About the role

Quorum Software, a provider of digital technology for business workflows in the oil and gas sector, is looking for a Principal Architect, AI Enablement. The role helps engineering teams put the AI Development Lifecycle (AIDLC) into practice, improving how they use AI across planning, design, implementation, testing and review. Reporting to the Director of AI Enablement, the position is a hands-on individual contributor role that combines technical judgment, teaching and influence across teams. It is open to Houston, Texas (preferred) or remote in the United States, with hybrid work in Houston or remote with travel elsewhere.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the agreed AIDLC into practical engineering standards and reference implementations covering planning, specification, design, implementation, testing, review and release.
• Define repository artifacts such as agent instruction files, context and specification documents and review templates, and set quality gates for AI-generated code with engineering and security leaders.
• Build reusable starter kits, repository templates, shared agent skills and approved MCP integrations so teams can adopt the standards easily.
• Set up repeatable ways to give agents relevant context and instructions across codebases and languages, and integrate AIDLC checks into CI/CD for automated validation.
• Evaluate AI development tools, models and integrations, explain their trade-offs and recommend what to standardize on.
• Work with Security, Legal and engineering leaders to define guardrails for code and data sent to models, secrets handling, prompt injection and licensing risks in generated code.
• Coach engineers, pair with them, run training and help teams apply new practices to their own codebases.
• Prepare and deliver stakeholder updates, track adoption and performance, and recommend changes based on results and team feedback.
