About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dedicated Police Officer to join its campus safety team in Little Rock. This full‑time position supports a vibrant academic and clinical environment by ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, patients, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide law‑enforcement services on the UAMS campus, including patrol, traffic control, and incident response.
• Investigate crimes, prepare reports, and testify in court as required.
• Collaborate with campus departments to develop and implement safety programs and emergency plans.
• Conduct community outreach and education to promote a safe environment.
• Respond to emergencies, medical calls, and security alarms promptly.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship or legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Completion of a police academy or equivalent law‑enforcement training.
• Valid state law‑enforcement certification and ability to obtain any required UAMS credentials.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse university community.
