Platform Engineer – Commercial Services Tools

About the role

Veeva Systems is a leading cloud software provider for the life‑sciences industry. The Commercial Services Tools team builds next‑generation services tools that power global services teams, leveraging a modern stack and cutting‑edge AI. As a Platform Engineer you will develop and ship AI‑driven features that help bring therapies to patients faster.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy end‑to‑end AI features such as RAG pipelines, agentic workflows and LLM applications on AWS Bedrock and ECS Fargate.
• Develop asynchronous Python services with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy 2 async and asyncpg, streaming live job progress via WebSocket/SSE.
• Implement and maintain React/TypeScript portal components used daily by global services teams.
• Own feature lifecycle from design through production, including testing, CI and observability.
• Collaborate across backend, frontend, cloud (AWS) and applied AI, and learn Veeva Vault and CRM platform APIs.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience shipping production software used by real users.
• Strong Python skills with hands‑on experience building async REST APIs (FastAPI preferred).
• Practical experience building at least one agentic or RAG application, understanding embeddings, vector search and prompting.
• Comfortable working across the stack, including React/TypeScript front‑end development.
• Proficiency with SQL/PostgreSQL and Git‑based workflows.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS services, IAM roles and containerisation (Docker).
• Strong written and verbal English and ability to thrive in a fast‑moving remote team.
