Physician Vice Chair – Cardiovascular Research

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a board‑certified physician leader in a cardiovascular subspecialty to serve as Vice Chair of Cardiovascular Research. The role will design, oversee, and expand the institution’s cardiovascular research program while collaborating closely with the Department of Cardiology, academic leadership, and the Ochsner Clinical School.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Cardiology and Academic leadership to develop an academic model for the John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute, including workflow, resources, and strategic goals.
• Lead the Cardiovascular Research Board to optimize program structure, workflow, and resources aligned with mission objectives.
• Collaborate with fellowship program directors to define and execute core expectations for cardiovascular medicine and subspecialty fellows.
• Assist in creating future subspecialty fellowship programs and ensure optimal training experiences.
• Work with the Chief Academic Officer and Chief Scientific Officer to align cardiology research with organizational goals and secure institutional support.

Required profile

• Board certification and extensive experience in a cardiovascular subspecialty.
• Proven track record in designing and overseeing clinical research programs.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills with academic and clinical stakeholders.
