Part-Time Lecturer AY - Kellogg Honors College

About the role

The Office of Academic Innovation at Cal Poly Pomona is recruiting part-time lecturers for the Kellogg Honors College. Positions are filled from a temporary faculty pool as needed, based on student enrollment and funding, and candidates may need to be available to start teaching on short notice. The Fall term runs from late August to mid-December and the Spring term from mid-January to mid-May; summer sessions may also be available.

Key responsibilities

• Teach CPU2990H: Career Preparedness for Honors, an honors course covering career exploration, career services, CV and resume building, LinkedIn profiles, and workshops on campus.
• Teach in honors education and pedagogies, career preparedness, badging and micro-credentials, student mentorship, career services and support, and NACE competencies.

Required profile

• A Master's degree in any accredited academic field.
• Preferred: a Ph.D. in any accredited academic field.
• Preferred: experience in honors education advising or teaching, and training in Career Preparedness practices.
• Background check (including criminal records check) must be satisfactorily completed; offers are conditional.

What we offer

• Initial appointments are for one semester only; most new appointees start at Lecturer A or B rank.
• Anticipated hiring range up to $6,221 per month, depending on qualifications.
