Outside Sales Representative

About the role

Core & Main is seeking an Outside Sales Representative based in St. Louis to promote its water, wastewater, storm drainage and fire‑protection product portfolio. You will work directly with municipalities, private water utilities and professional contractors, helping them select reliable infrastructure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within an assigned territory.
• Maintain and grow existing customer relationships by providing product expertise and responsive service.
• Present technical solutions, prepare quotes and negotiate contracts.
• Collaborate with internal supply‑chain and service teams to ensure timely delivery and installation.
• Achieve sales targets and report activity using company tools.
• Travel regularly to customer sites and industry events.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of proven outside sales experience.
• Background in construction supply or industrial distribution.
• Experience working with general contractors and/or municipal clients.
• Strong relationship‑building, proactive mindset and attention to detail.
• Competitive, self‑motivated and able to manage a flexible schedule.
