About the role

The Veterans Health Administration’s Home Based Primary Care program at the Santa Fe VA Medical Center is seeking an Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse. This position provides direct nursing care to veterans receiving outpatient services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver outpatient nursing services within the Home Based Primary Care team at the Santa Fe VAMC.

Required profile

• Proficiency in written and spoken English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
• Graduate of an ACEN‑ or CCNE‑accredited nursing program, or equivalent foreign‑educated nursing credentials with appropriate validation.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional RN in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Eligibility for a Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) temporary appointment if licensure is pending, in accordance with VA policy.
• May be appointed on a temporary basis as a Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) for up to 120 days while pursuing licensure.
• Grandfathering provision applies to current VHA employees meeting the effective date qualifications.
• Grade assignment follows the VA’s Scope‑Education‑Dimension criteria covering practice, leadership, professional development, and evidence‑based practice.
