Operations Research Analyst – Army Civilian Fellows Program

About the role

The Army Fellows Program is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to develop mathematical and statistical models that support decision‑making across the Army. This is a civilian position with no military service obligation, offering a fast‑track career path and continuous training.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and refining mathematical and statistical models, methodologies, and solutions.
• Provide expert advice on quantitative techniques for complex problem solving.
• Apply and extend modern operations‑research, statistics, modeling, and simulation methods.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate analytical results into actionable insights.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in operations research, mathematics, statistics, or a related field with at least 24 semester hours of relevant coursework, including calculus.
• Minimum of one year of specialized experience developing mathematical solutions or conducting research on quantitative trends.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
