Operations Manager – Distribution Center

About the role

The Operations Manager leads the major functions of DHL eCommerce’s distribution centre during the assigned shift. The role ensures timely and accurate mailings, supports the implementation of the eCommerce business plan and maintains a cost‑effective operation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage production, quality processes and transportation in line with DHL policies to achieve optimal profitability.
• Coach Operations Supervisors and hourly staff, conduct performance evaluations and foster high morale.
• Develop weekly operation plans to process customer volume on schedule and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate local and regional transportation activities and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee quality functions, monitor internal/external controls and implement new quality initiatives.
• Maintain equipment performance, act as liaison with on‑site USPS and stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Partner with Human Resources on time‑and‑attendance, staffing, evaluations and employee relations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Management or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including midnight, weekends and holidays.
• Physical capability to stand, walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially advanced Excel.
• Experience with Lean methodologies (preferred).
