Nutrition Service Assistant – School Cafeteria (5 hrs/day)

About the role

The Nutrition Service Assistant supports daily food service operations in the school cafeteria, ensuring meals are prepared safely and served efficiently during the morning shift.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving meals for students and staff.
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas following health and safety standards.
• Maintain inventory of food supplies and report any shortages.
• Support compliance with district food safety policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in a school nutrition program or food service environment preferred.
• Ability to work mornings, Monday‑Friday, 6:00 a.m.‑11:00 a.m.
• Clearance for TB test and fingerprinting (employee‑paid).

Required skills

• Knowledge of basic food preparation and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow written instructions and safety guidelines.
