Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive improvements in production processes, methods, and controls. You will coordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products and act as a subject‑matter expert on equipment that utilizes PLC technology.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the PLC subject‑matter expert for equipment such as routers, waterjets, CNC machines, saws, and robots.
• Design and conduct research programs to evaluate and develop manufacturing processes, collaborating with equipment vendors and operators.
• Calculate production, labor, and material costs; review schedules and forecast future requirements.
• Prepare product and process reports by analyzing trends and data.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and maintain product reputation.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs to keep equipment operational.
• Develop and maintain a product and process database, including writing simple computer programs.
• Lead the creation of an apprenticeship and internship program for new or inexperienced employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing technology preferred, or an associate degree in an engineering discipline.
• 3‑5 years of demonstrated experience in a technical or manufacturing field.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool design.
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality‑assurance techniques.
• Ability to work independently, self‑motivate, and adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
