Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organization. In this role you will act as a subject‑matter expert on PLC‑controlled equipment, drive process improvements, and support new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the PLC expert for equipment such as routers, waterjets, CNC machines, saws and robots.
• Design, execute and analyze research programs to develop and optimise manufacturing processes, tooling and assembly methods.
• Calculate production, labour and material costs, review schedules and forecast future resource needs.
• Prepare detailed product and process reports, summarising trends and performance data.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and maintain the company’s reputation for quality.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, follow manufacturer guidelines and arrange special services when required.
• Maintain the product and process database by writing and updating computer programs.
• Lead the creation of apprenticeship and internship programmes for new or inexperienced staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing technology preferred; associate degree in an engineering discipline acceptable.
• 3‑5 years of proven experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality‑assurance techniques.
• Ability to work independently, self‑motivate and adhere to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Effective problem‑solving skills and a collaborative team mindset.
