About the role
The University of Miami is seeking a Manager to lead the Employee Leave and Accommodations function on‑site. This position oversees the administration of leaves of absence and workplace accommodations, ensuring compliance with federal statutes and university policies.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full accommodation process, triaging and resolving ADA requests.
- Maintain case‑management protocols and ensure accurate tracking of all accommodation cases.
- Obtain required medical releases and uphold strict confidentiality.
- Coordinate ergonomic assessments with Risk Management as needed.
- Oversee leave management for faculty and staff, including FMLA, military leave, and other protected leaves.
- Partner with HR Client Services, Faculty Affairs, Talent Acquisition, and Classroom Management teams.
- Develop and maintain a directory of accommodation options and support policy development.
Required profile
- In‑depth knowledge of ADA, PWFA, FMLA, USERRA, and Title VII religious accommodation requirements.
- Experience supervising leave coordinators and accommodation specialists.
- Ability to collaborate with health‑care practitioners, university departments, and community resources.
- Strong communication skills for directing accommodation measures and training initiatives.
