Retirement Systems Administrator

About the role

The Retirement Systems Administrator will oversee the university's retirement benefit programs, ensuring accurate service delivery and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role partners closely with HR, payroll, and external vendors to support employee retirement planning and financial wellness.

Key responsibilities

• Administer complex retirement benefit plans, managing options, policies, and enrollment processes.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports and filings to meet federal, state, and institutional deadlines.
• Communicate benefit options and eligibility to participants and process distributions, loans, and hardship requests.
• Maintain plan funding processes, records, Summary Plan Descriptions, and amendments.
• Generate reports, audits, and analyses using advanced analytical tools to support benefits operations.
• Interpret data findings and provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Analyze and improve existing systems and processes for data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
• Collaborate with HR and Payroll to streamline operations and reduce costs.
• Support project work such as plan implementations, system upgrades, and process improvements.
• Maintain vendor relationships and act as liaison for third‑party administrators and trustees.
• Conduct employee education sessions on retirement savings, investment options, and financial wellness.
• Assist with open enrollment events and analyze benefit costs, participation trends, and financial metrics.

Required profile

• Experience administering retirement or benefits programs and knowledge of relevant regulations.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail for accurate reporting and compliance.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with participants, vendors, and internal partners.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive approach to process improvement and system optimization.
