Maintenance Worker – Facility Operations

About the role

As a Maintenance Worker at Alfa Laval you will keep the plant and grounds operating safely and efficiently. The role involves a mix of heavy‑equipment operation, general upkeep, and proactive problem solving in a safety‑sensitive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain grounds and landscaping, including debris removal, tree trimming, mowing, and operating heavy equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Perform facility upkeep such as carpentry, light replacement, plumbing tasks, and 5S organization of the maintenance area.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, and mowing/tractor equipment safely while following lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
• Manage tool crib inventory, coordinate uniform maintenance with third parties, and handle third‑party repair requests.
• Assist with purchasing new parts and tools, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support other trade personnel as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with relevant maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 75 lb occasionally (30 lb frequently).
• Willingness to work overtime and travel locally (<10%).

Required skills

• Operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, and mowing/tractor equipment.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, and general electrical troubleshooting.
• Lock‑out/tag‑out safety procedures and use of hand, power, and specialty tools.
• Tool crib inventory management and parts purchasing.
• Welding and CNC controller maintenance (as needed).
