Maintenance Technician – Ascend on Potranco

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join Greystar’s Ascend on Potranco community in San Antonio. The role ensures that apartments, common areas and grounds are kept in excellent condition, meeting Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and completing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, creating punch lists, coordinating vendors, obtaining supplies and inspecting completed work.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage and notify the supervisor when re‑ordering is needed.
• Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Maintain grounds and amenities by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety and risk‑management meetings and adhere to Greystar’s safety policies.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues in residential settings.
• Experience with make‑ready turnover processes and coordinating external vendors.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and inventory tracking.
• Commitment to safety standards and willingness to attend regular safety meetings.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning, pressure‑washing and painting tasks.
