Maintenance Mechanic I

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic I to join its team in Springfield, VA. The role covers general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings, drawing on practical skills in painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and masonry work.

Key responsibilities

• Replace motors.
• Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
• Repair or replace sinks, water coolers and toilets.
• Paint structures and equipment.
• Repair or replace concrete floors, steps and sidewalks.
• Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Hang doors and install door locks.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Carry out other duties associated with the position as appropriate.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal or informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level needed for the job.
• At least five years of general maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
