About the role

WPBF, the ABC affiliate in Palm Beach Gardens, is seeking a proactive Local News Producer to shape compelling newscasts. The role involves leading story selection, scriptwriting, and coordinating a multi‑disciplinary newsroom team to deliver a seamless on‑air experience.

Key responsibilities

• Select, research, and write content for live newscasts, turning each broadcast into an engaging viewer experience.
• Guide reporters through story development and production.
• Communicate and execute the creative vision with anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff.
• Coordinate multiple crews, manage deadlines, and ensure smooth on‑air execution.
• Maintain flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights as news breaks.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of producing experience in a newsroom environment.
• Proven ability to win big stories, break news, and handle weather segments.
• Excellent writing, spelling, grammar, and copy‑editing skills.
• Calm under pressure with strong news judgment and a can‑do attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including holidays and overnight shifts.
