Senior Producer – Remote (Hub)

About the role

The E.W. Scripps Company is looking for a creative Senior Producer to work remotely, supporting stations across the country in content development and playout. You will curate and produce local news tailored to each market while overseeing 24/7 content streams.

Key responsibilities

• Champion current and emerging technologies and provide training in assigned markets.
• Develop, organize, and write local news content for Scripps stations.
• Collaborate directly with local news leadership to select up‑to‑date information for each daypart.
• Use solid news judgment to produce dynamic products aligned with Scripps’ content strategy.
• Assess existing workflows and implement improvements for efficiency.
• Make time‑sensitive decisions independently and communicate clearly.
• Act as an ambassador for the Scripps Content Strategy and oversee editorial decisions.
• Exercise creativity and experiment with new ways of producing news.

Required profile

• BS/BA in a related discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• Typically 6+ years of experience as a television news producer.
• Avid news consumer with ability to quickly get up to speed on local markets.
• Excellent time and priority management, highly organized, deadline‑driven.
• Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills without formal authority.
• Experience using editing software in a newsroom environment.
• Critical thinker who can adapt on the fly in challenging situations.
• Independent decision‑maker, creative, curious, and big‑picture oriented.
