Litigation Legal Assistant – San Francisco

About the role

Jeffer Mangels & Mitchell LLP is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join its San Francisco office. The role supports a high‑pace civil litigation team, handling filings, document management, and attorney support across state, federal and appellate courts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence, legal documents, and respond to information requests via phone or email.
• Electronically file and serve court documents in State and Federal courts.
• Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.
• Maintain client and case files within the firm’s document management system.
• Draft and proofread pleadings, create charts/graphs, and assemble trial binders and presentations.
• Collaborate with finance to process vendor payments and attorney expense reports.
• Assist peers and administrative teams with overflow work and miscellaneous tasks.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience in California state, federal, and appellate courts.
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA‑approved program is a plus.
• Experience supporting an IP practice is a plus.

Required skills

• Electronic filing in state and federal courts.
• Proficiency with document management systems.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range $90,000 – $115,000 base.
• Hybrid work schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote after the initial 30‑day onsite period.
