About the role

Waabi is a leader in Physical AI, building autonomous trucks and robotaxis. As Managing Counsel, Commercial you will own the company’s commercial contracting function and act as the senior legal advisor on high‑impact deals that drive the business forward.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the commercial contracting function across hardware supply chain, strategic partnerships, SaaS licensing, professional services and vendor agreements.
• Structure, draft and negotiate hardware supply chain agreements with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
• Manage legal work on strategic OEM and platform partnerships supporting autonomous‑vehicle adoption.
• Provide plain‑language legal advice to engineering, supply‑chain, finance and business‑development teams.
• Build and maintain a forms library, templates and negotiation playbooks to scale contracting.
• Own company‑wide contract compliance, tracking and enforcing post‑signature obligations.
• Support additional legal workstreams such as IP, open‑source licensing, regulatory and data‑privacy issues.

Required profile

• 8+ years of legal experience, primarily in‑house, handling complex commercial transactions in automotive, hardware or technology.
• Deep expertise in hardware supply‑chain agreements, including IP ownership, warranty, liability and quality terms.
• Proven track record structuring and negotiating strategic partnerships or corp‑dev agreements.
• Effective communicator who translates contract risk into clear guidance for non‑legal stakeholders.
• Strong risk judgment and ability to prioritize material issues.
• Experience creating and managing contract templates, playbooks and compliance processes.
• J.D. and active bar membership in the US or Canada.
