Lecturer AY - Master of Interior Architecture (Temporary, Part Time)

About the role

The Department of Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona invites applications for a part-time lecturer in the area of Interior Architecture to teach online in the Master of Interior Architecture program. The position is in the temporary faculty pool, which is continuously open and filled as needed depending on student enrollment and funding; candidates may need to be available to start teaching on short notice. The Fall term runs from late August to mid-December, the Spring term from mid-January to mid-May, and summer sessions may also be available. The appointment is part time, falls under the California Faculty Association Unit 3 bargaining unit, and is eligible for telecommute.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned division courses in the department's curriculum and hold weekly office hours based on the assigned teaching unit load.
• Assignments may include day, evening and/or weekend courses.

Required profile

• A Master's degree in Interior Architecture or in a related discipline relevant to the curriculum.
• Preferred: a degree in Interior Design/Interior Architecture, NCIDQ certification or another interior design certification, and professional practice experience.
• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and evidence of strong teaching ability.

Required skills

• Ability to teach courses such as Building Codes, Interior Detailing and Building Systems, Sustainable Strategies in Interior Architecture, Foundational Interior Architectural Design Studio and Interior Architectural Practice.
