About the role
Moog is seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist III to produce high‑precision components for aerospace and defense programs. You will work onsite in Buffalo, NY, applying your CNC expertise to parts that directly support space, missile and flight‑critical systems.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines with milling capabilities to achieve tight tolerances and complex geometry.
- Inspect finished parts, adjust gauging equipment, and identify any deviations from blueprints.
- Interpret detailed GD&T drawings, sketches and operation sheets.
- Plan work, troubleshoot issues within the cell, and maintain documentation of processes.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED (preferred) and proven ability to follow written and computer instructions in English.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist.
- Strong mathematical skills for basic calculations.
Required skills
- CNC lathe operation with milling capabilities.
- Proficiency in G‑Code programming.
- Familiarity with Fanuc control systems (a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T specifications.
- Precision inspection and gauging techniques.
