About the role
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is seeking a part‑time Kitchen Supervisor (Food Services Technician II) to lead its Amuse restaurant kitchen team. You will help create memorable dining experiences for museum visitors while ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient kitchen operations.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and schedule kitchen staff across all shifts, including lunch and Sunday brunch service.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with state regulations.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of fresh, local ingredients.
- Oversee preparation, cooking, and plating of menu items to ensure quality and consistency.
- Coordinate with front‑of‑house staff to align service timing and guest experience.
- Perform routine equipment checks, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Required profile
- Prior experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or institutional kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and ability to enforce them.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
