About the role
The Junior ROTC Instructor (Senior Army Instructor) will lead the Junior ROTC program at Sierra High School, providing military‑style education, mentorship, and leadership development to high‑school cadets.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver instruction and mentorship to Junior ROTC cadets.
- Lead the Senior Army Instructor (SAI) program and coordinate activities with the U.S. Army.
- Maintain program standards, safety, and compliance with district policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Either a former Non‑commissioned Officer (E‑8 to E‑9), Commissioned/Warrant Officer (W‑1 to W‑5, O‑3 to O‑6), or current Army National Guard/Reserve member holding one of those ranks.
- Retired or separated from service within the past five years with a minimum of eight years of cumulative honorable service.
- Letter of recommendation from current Commander.
- Current DA Form 5016 or NGB Form 23A.
- Copy of a valid Designated Subject ROTC Credential or Junior ROTC Pre‑Instructor Qualification Memorandum (if applicable).
- Two letters of recommendation from most recent employer(s).
